Non-profit organizations

The differences between a non-profit (also known as tax-exempt) organization and a for-profit company are many, but the most notable difference is that non-profit organizations cannot operate for profit. Non-profit organizations are exempt from the income taxes that affect other companies, but only if they conduct business exclusively for the benefit of the general public. Leonard Law has experience with many non-profit organizations that exist and support our community including those positively impacting children, religious organizations, underprivileged, cultural and artistic efforts, and economic opportunities.

If you are considering creating a non-profit organization, Leonard Law can guide you through the 501(c)(3) application process. In addition, constant changes in the tax law, difficulties with the funding process, and various reporting requirements cause charitable organizations to seek our assistance. With our guidance, the burden to establish and maintain a tax-exempt organization is greatly reduced.
